Samenvatting
This article presents the case of chaplaincy care in the military from the perspective of moral stress. We describe and analyse four cases, collected within the Case Studies Project. The cases are studied by using both inductive and deductive models of analysis. We found that military chaplains have a paradoxical position within the military; that their spiritual interventions are coloured by the military environment; and that, in response to moral stress, they ‘open up a moral space’ in various ways, thus boosting soldiers’ resilience.
