Abstract

This inventive study concerns a systematic analysis of the translation techniques emerging in the Tell Fekheriyeh inscription from the ninth century BCE, which includes an Akkadian text and a parallel Aramaic version, also known as KAI 309. The authors selected this bilingual for their exploration, since other multilingual inscriptions comprising an Akkadian text and a version in a Northwest Semitic language are much more fragmentary.
