    Abstract

    Isaiah addresses his prophecy of the peaceful kingdom (Isaiah 11:1-8) to people in his own time, but his inspiring expectation for the future has been reinterpreted over and over again in different historical times (Isaiah 11:9; 65:25; Sirach 13:17-19; Rev. 13:2; Rom. 15:2; 2 Thess. 2:8).
