Description

The international project Semantics of Ancient Hebrew Database (SAHD) applies a comprehensive approach to precise the meaning of words in biblical Hebrew. Examples of entries can be found at www.sahd-online.com, where many entries will be added in the near future. Each entry includes all the relevant information regarding the Hebrew word, including the cognates in other languages. This session shows how the approach can help to specify the nuances of words for “seals” and terminology in connection with slavery, and also how the approach can help to establish the meaning of words that occur only once. Participants: Marjo C.A. Korpel, Raymond de Hoop, Cornelius Haposan Sinaga.
