Description
In this paper I discuss two of Primo Levi's works, the novel If not now, when? on Jewish partisans from 1982, and the essayistic work The drowned and the saved from 1986. I reflect on his use of the Biblical character Cain to explain human’s complicity in evil both inside and outside the concentration camps, in order to help us think through the evil of our time.Period | 31 Jan 2025 |
